This scientific truth—that life cannot exist without water—was only discovered in recent centuries, yet the Qur’ān revealed it over 1400 years ago.

Qur’ānic Revelation:

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًۭا فَفَتَقْنَٰهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّۢ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

English Translation:

"Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and the earth were once one mass, then We split them apart? And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"

The Arabic phrase "وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّۢ" literally means "We made from water every living thing." This is not metaphorical; it is a literal scientific reality.

At the time of revelation, no one knew the biological importance of water. Many civilizations had myths about the origin of life, but the Qur’ān precisely stated that water is the key to life itself—long before science could confirm it.
