Iron (Al-Hadīd)
Iron is one of the most extraordinary mathematical and scientific signatures in the Qur’ān. Its placement, wording, and even numerical patterns align perfectly with what modern science discovered centuries later.
1. Chapter 57 — “Al-Ḥadīd” (The Iron)
Surah 57 is titled Al-Ḥadīd, meaning “The Iron.”
This surah is exactly in the middle of the Qur’ān — just as iron is at the core of the Earth.
The Qur’ān has 114 chapters → 114 ÷ 2 = 57
Surah 57 stands at the center.
2. Numerical Value (Abjad) Matches the Chapter Number
The Arabic word:
“Al-Ḥadīd” (الحديد) has a numerical value of 57 → same as the chapter number.
“Ḥadīd” (حديد) without the “Al” has a value of 26.
Modern science:
Iron’s atomic number = 26
→ Exactly matching “Ḥadīd” = 26.
3. The Word "Iron" Appears in Verse 25
Iron is mentioned in:
Surah 57, Verse 25
→ 57 & 25 stand together like a coded signature.
Inside this same chapter:
From the beginning of Surah 57 up to verse 25,
the word “Allah” appears 26 times.
The 26th mention of “Allah” occurs
as the 26th word in verse 25.
Everything aligns with the number 26 —
the atomic number of iron.
4. A Deeper Meaning
Iron is essential for:
blood
structure
tools
construction
civilization
And the Qur’ān highlights this divine gift:
﴿وَأَنزَلْنَا الْحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأْسٌ شَدِيدٌ﴾
“…And We sent down iron, in which there is great strength…”
— Qur’ān 57:25
The phrase “We sent down iron” is striking —
modern astrophysics later proved that iron does not form on Earth,
but is sent down from supernova explosions in space.
