Reflection on Qur’ān 7:52–7:54
1) Qur’ān 7:52 — A Book Explained
“We have certainly brought them a Book which We explained in detail—upon knowledge— as guidance and mercy for people who believe.”
(7:52)
A Book.
Not missing. Not unclear.
Qur’ān confirms:
“Alif-Lãm-Ra. This is a Book whose verses are perfected, then explained in detail…”
(11:1)
“A Book whose verses have been made clear—an Arabic Qur’ān for people who know.”
(41:3)
Explained in detail — upon knowledge.
Not guesswork. Not human editing.
Qur’ān confirms:
“Say, ‘It has been sent down by the One Who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth.’”
(25:6)
“Should He not know what He created?”
(67:14)
“And with Him are the keys of the unseen… not a leaf falls but He knows it.”
(6:59)
Guidance and mercy — for believers.
Qur’ān confirms:
“This is a guidance… and good news for the believers.”
(2:97)
“We send down of the Qur’ān what is a healing and a mercy for the believers.”
(17:82)
“A guidance and mercy for the doers of good.”
(31:3)
2) Qur’ān 7:53 — They Await Its Fulfillment
“Do they only await its ultimate fulfillment? The Day its fulfillment comes, those who neglected it before will say, ‘The messengers of our Lord certainly came with the truth…’”
(7:53)
They awaited.
Not because it was unclear —
but because they hoped it would not happen.
Qur’ān confirms:
“So is there anything for them to await except the Hour…?”
(43:66)
“They say, ‘When will this promise be, if you are truthful?’”
(36:48)
“On the Day when some of your Lord’s signs come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before…”
(6:158)
“The messengers came with the truth.”
Confession after fulfillment.
Qur’ān confirms:
“When they saw Our punishment, they said, ‘We believe in Allah alone…’ But their faith did not benefit them then.”
(40:84–85)
“Are there any intercessors…?”
Qur’ān confirms:
“So no intercession will benefit them.”
(74:48)
“O you who believe… a Day when there will be no bargaining, no friendship, and no intercession…”
(2:254)
“Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?”
(2:255)
“Or can we be sent back…?”
Qur’ān confirms:
“Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, ‘My Lord! Send me back…’ No! It is only a word he says…”
(23:99–100)
“If they were returned, they would surely go back to what they were forbidden.”
(6:28)
“They ruined themselves… and what they fabricated failed them.”
Qur’ān confirms:
“Indeed, the losers are those who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection.”
(39:15)
“And whatever they used to fabricate will leave them.”
(6:24)
3) Qur’ān 7:54 — The Lord of Creation and Command
“Indeed your Lord is Allah—Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself on the Throne. He covers the night with the day… and the sun, the moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command. Blessed is Allah, Lord of all worlds.”
(7:54)
Created. Then commands.
Ownership proven through power.
Qur’ān confirms:
“Allah is the Creator of all things.”
(39:62)
“To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth.”
(2:255)
Night overtakes day.
Day overtakes night.
Qur’ān confirms:
“He merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night.”
(57:6)
“And He has subjected the sun and the moon—each running for an appointed term.”
(13:2)
“The sun is not allowed to overtake the moon… each floats in an orbit.”
(36:40)
Everything is subjected.
So the fulfillment they awaited
is not difficult for Him.
Qur’ān confirms:
“His command, when He wills a thing, is only to say to it: ‘Be’—and it is.”
(36:82)
“The creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most people do not know.”
(40:57)
“Blessed is the One in Whose Hand is dominion…”
(67:1)
Blessed is Allah, Lord of all worlds.
