Reflection on Qur’ān 76:25–76:31

1. Qur’ān 76:25 — Constant Remembrance

“And remember the Name of your Lord morning and evening.”

(76:25)

Continuity.

Not occasional.

A life anchored in dhikr.

Qur’ān Explains:

“Remember Me; I will remember you.”

(2:152)

“Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”

(13:28)

“And glorify Him morning and evening.”

(33:42)

2. Qur’ān 76:26 — Night Devotion

“And during the night prostrate to Him and glorify Him long into the night.”

(76:26)

Night.

Silence.

Sujūd.

Lengthened closeness.

Qur’ān Confirms:

“They used to sleep but little at night.”

(51:17)

“And in the hours before dawn they would seek forgiveness.”

(51:18)

“Stand ˹in prayer˺ at night, except a little.”

(73:2)

3. Qur’ān 76:27 — The Core Problem

“Surely these love the fleeting world and neglect behind them a heavy Day.”

(76:27)

Attachment.

Distraction.

Neglect of al-Ākhirah.

Qur’ān Explains:

“But you prefer the worldly life, while the Hereafter is better and more lasting.”

(87:16–17)

“The life of this world is nothing but enjoyment of delusion.”

(3:185)

“Whatever you have will end, but what Allah has is everlasting.”

(16:96)

4. Qur’ān 76:28 — Who Holds Power?

“We created them and strengthened their frame. And if We will, We can replace them entirely.”

(76:28)

Strength is given.

Existence is granted.

Replacement is possible.

Qur’ān Confirms:

“If He wills, He can remove you and bring forth a new creation.”

(14:19)

“Your Lord is Free of need, full of mercy.”

(6:133)

5. Qur’ān 76:29 — A Reminder, Not Compulsion

“Indeed, this is a reminder. So whoever wills may take a path to their Lord.”

(76:29)

Reminder.

Choice.

Path open.

Qur’ān Explains:

“There is no compulsion in religion.”

(2:256)

“Whoever wills—let them believe; and whoever wills—let them disbelieve.”

(18:29)

6. Qur’ān 76:30 — The Reality of Will

“But you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.”

(76:30)

Human will exists.

Divine will encompasses.

Knowledge surrounds all outcomes.

Qur’ān Confirms:

“And Allah knows while you do not know.”

(2:216)

“Your Lord creates what He wills and chooses.”

(28:68)

7. Qur’ān 76:31 — Mercy & Justice

“He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And for the wrongdoers, He has prepared a painful punishment.”

(76:31)

Two destinies.

Rahmah.

ʿAdhāb.

Qur’ān Explains:

“My mercy encompasses all things.”

(7:156)

“Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.”

(7:56)

“And your Lord is not unjust to the servants.”

(41:46)
