Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass then We split them apart?...
[Quran 21:30]
"..And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"
[Quran 21:30]
"And We have placed firm mountains upon the earth so it does not shake with them, and made in it broad pathways so they may find their way."
[Quran 21:31]
And We have made the sky a well-protected canopy, still they turn away from its signs.
[Quran 21:32]
And He is the One Who created the day and the night, the sun and the moon—each travelling in an orbit.
[Quran 21:33]
The Reality of Human Mortality
“We did not grant immortality to any human before you…” (21:34)
No human has escaped death:
Prophets
Kings
Scholars
Empires
All passed away.
Permanence belongs only to Allāh.
Imam ʿAlī ibn Abī Tālib (grandson of the Prophet ﷺ) said:
“The world did not remain for those before you, nor will it remain for you.”
Life as a Divine Examination
“Every soul will taste death. And We test you with good and evil as a trial…” (21:35)
Life is not random.
Ease is a test.
Hardship is a test.
Delay is a test.
Provision is a test.
All conditions are forms of examination.
Imam ʿAlī ibn Mūsā al-Ridā (grandson of the Prophet ﷺ) said:
“Comfort and difficulty are both measures by which Allāh tests His servants.”
(Meaning)
The Certain Return to Allāh
“And to Us you will be returned.” (21:35)
The Qur’ān ends this passage with return.
Creation → Order → Death → Trial → Return.
Existence moves toward accountability.
Imam ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (grandson of the Prophet ﷺ) said:
“Today is action without account, and tomorrow is account without action.”
