Reflection on Qur’ān 71:10–71:17
1. Qur’ān 71:10 — The Door Always Open
“And I said, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord. Surely He is Ever-Forgiving.’”
(71:10)
No hesitation.
No barrier.
Istighfār is welcomed.
Qur’ān Explains:
“Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.”
(39:53)
“And your Lord is the Most Forgiving, Full of Mercy.”
(18:58)
2. Qur’ān 71:11 — Forgiveness & Provision
“He will send down abundant rain from the sky upon you.”
(71:11)
Mercy descends.
Relief pours.
Dryness turns to life.
Qur’ān Confirms:
“It is He who sends down rain after they had despaired.”
(42:28)
“And We sent down blessed rain from the sky.”
(50:9)
3. Qur’ān 71:12 — Increase & Expansion
“And He will increase you in wealth and children, and grant you gardens and rivers.”
(71:12)
Increase.
Growth.
Barakah.
Not subtraction — expansion.
Qur’ān Explains:
“Whatever you spend, He will replace it.”
(34:39)
“If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.”
(14:7)
4. Qur’ān 71:13 — Restoring Hope in Allah
“What is the matter with you that you do not attribute grandeur to Allah?”
(71:13)
Why doubt?
Why shrink hope?
Allah invites hearts to think greatly of Him.
Qur’ān Confirms:
“Allah is Gentle with His servants. He provides for whom He wills.”
(42:19)
“My mercy encompasses all things.”
(7:156)
5. Qur’ān 71:14 — Stages of Careful Creation
“While He has created you in stages?”
(71:14)
Step by step.
Phase by phase.
Nothing rushed.
Everything measured.
A life shaped with wisdom.
Qur’ān Explains:
“He created you from stage to stage.”
(84:19)
“And Allah brought you out of your mothers’ wombs not knowing anything.”
(16:78)
6. Qur’ān 71:15–16 — The Vast Design
“Do you not see how Allah created seven heavens in layers, and made the moon a light within them and the sun a shining lamp?”
(71:15–16)
Order.
Light.
Precision.
The universe itself reflects generosity.
Qur’ān Confirms:
“And We built above you seven strong heavens.”
(78:12)
“Blessed is He who placed in the sky great stars.”
(25:61)
7. Qur’ān 71:17 — From Earth, With Purpose
“And Allah caused you to grow from the earth like a plant.”
(71:17)
Growth.
Nurturing.
Sustained care.
Just as the earth brings forth life, Allah brings forth human potential.
Qur’ān Explains:
"And among His signs is that you see the earth devoid of life, but as soon as We send down rain upon it, it begins to stir ˹to life˺ and swell. Indeed, the One Who revives it can easily revive the dead. He is certainly Most Capable of everything."
(41:39)
Final Reflection
Istighfār is not merely wiping sins.
It is:
Mercy invited.
Provision unlocked.
Life expanded.
Hope restored.
Allah is not withholding.
Allah is Ever-Forgiving.
Ever-Giving.
Ever-Merciful. ✨
