The Bee

The bee is one of the Qur’ān’s most astonishing numerical miracles. Modern science discovered precise chromosome counts in bees — and amazingly, the Qur’ān aligns with these numbers in a way no human could have known 1,400 years ago.

Modern genetics has discovered the following:

  • Male bee chromosomes: 16
  • Female bee chromosomes: 32

Amazingly, the Qur’ān reflects these numbers with perfect precision.

Surah An-Naḥl — Chapter 16

The only chapter in the Qur’ān named “The Bee” is Surah An-Naḥl, and it is Chapter 16 — matching the 16 chromosomes of the male bee.

The Final Verse — 32 Letters

The last verse of Surah An-Naḥl is:

﴿إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ﴾

(Qur’ān 16:128)

This verse contains exactly 32 letters, matching the 32 chromosomes of the female bee.

The Word “Bee” Appears Only Once

The word “bee” (نحل) is mentioned only once in the entire Qur’ān — in verse 68 of this same chapter.

Between the start of the chapter and the word “bee”, there are exactly 32 words — once again reflecting the female bee’s 32 chromosomes.
