Collection: The City of LūT (Homosexual People)

The narrative of the City of LūT(Sodom and Gomorrah) through various Quranic verses.

[Quran 15:57 to Quran 15:77]

[Abraham] said, "Then what is your mission [here], O messengers?" 

They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals,

Except the family of LūT ; indeed, we will save them all

Except his wife." We have decreed that she is of those who remain behind.

And when the messengers came to the family of LūT ,

He said, "Indeed, you are a people unknown."

They responded, “We have come to you with that which they have doubting.

And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 

So travel with your family in the dark of night, and follow ˹closely˺ behind them. Do not let any of you look back, and go where you are commanded.”

And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning.

And the [Homosexual] people of the city came rejoicing.

[LūT] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me.

And fear Allāh and do not disgrace me."

They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"

[LūT] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]."

By your life, [O Prophet], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly.

So the ˹mighty˺ blast overtook them at sunrise.

And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of baked clay.

Indeed in that are signs for those who contemplate.

And indeed, they [their ruins] are [situated] on an established road.

Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.

Who do you think is holding these ruins at their place till now, after 1400 years? Why aren't these ruins being removed, and who is ensuring the Quran's word remains true?

Their ruins still lie along a known route. [Quran 15:76]

The fact that these ancient ruins still exist today, as described in the Quran, is a powerful reminder for those who are mindful.
